Enhancement of international cooperation in the field
of human rights
The General Assembly,
Reaffirming its commitment to promoting international cooperation, as set forth
in the Charter of the United Nations, in particular Article 1, paragraph 3, as well as
relevant provisions of the Vienna Declaration and Programme of Action adopted by
the World Conference on Human Rights on 25 June 1993, 1 for enhancing genuine
cooperation among Member States in the field of human rights,
Recalling its resolution 70/1 of 25 September 2015, entitled “Transforming our
world: the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development”, in which the General
Assembly adopted a comprehensive, far-reaching and people-centred set of universal
and transformative Sustainable Development Goals,
Recalling also its adoption of the United Nations Millennium Declaration on
8 September 2000, 2 its resolution 72/169 of 19 December 2017, Human Rights
Council resolution 38/3 of 5 July 2018 3 and the resolutions of the Commission on
Human Rights on the enhancement of international cooperation in the field of human
rights,
Recalling further the World Conference against Racism, Racial Discrimination,
Xenophobia and Related Intolerance, held in Durban, South Africa, from 31 August
to 8 September 2001, the Durban Review Conference, held in Geneva from 20 to
