Measures to prevent terrorists from acquiring weapons of mass destruction The General Assembly, Recalling its resolution 75/58 of 7 December 2020, Recognizing the determination of the international community to combat terrorism, as evidenced in relevant General Assembly and Security Council resolutions, Deeply concerned by the growing risk of linkages between terrorism and weapons of mass destruction, and in particular by the fact that terrorists may seek to acquire weapons of mass destruction, Cognizant of the steps taken by States to implement Security Council resolution 1540 (2004) of 28 April 2004 on the non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, Recalling Security Council resolution 2325 (2016) of 15 December 2016 on the non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction, Recalling also the entry into force on 7 July 2007 of the International Convention for the Suppression of Acts of Nuclear Terrorism, 1 Recalling further the adoption, by consensus, of amendments to strengthen the Convention on the Physical Protection of Nuclear Material 2 by the International Atomic Energy Agency on 8 July 2005, and their entry into force on 8 May 2016, Recalling the support expressed in the Final Document of the Eighteenth Summit of Heads of State or Government of Non-Aligned Countries, held in Baku on __________________ 1 2 21-18266 (E) United Nations, Treaty Series, vol. 2445, No. 44004.
